What does a temple really mean to a Latter-day Saint? Why do we make covenants there, and how can those covenants change the way we live?
Beginning October 4, 2026, a new six-part video series called “Dedicate” will explore these questions through the experiences of seven young adults from around the world — from Brazil, the Philippines, France, the United States, Japan, Ghana, and Mexico.
The series was created to help young people understand temples, strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ, and prepare for the celebration of the renovated Salt Lake Temple.
According to Church Newsroom, the series follows the young adults "as they explore the temple, meet with Church leaders and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ while learning more about God’s plan and the sacred purpose of temples."
For young adults and families in India, “Dedicate” can offer a glimpse into the experiences of young people from different parts of the world and help them understand why temples are important to Latter-day Saints — even for those who may never have the opportunity to visit the Salt Lake Temple in person.
Voices from the Trailer

The trailer, released September 21, 2026, gives an early look at the young adults' experiences. According to Church Newsroom:
"When I feel burdened, the place I run to is the temple." — Favour Onyinyechukwu Okeke, Ghana
"I loved how we were connected together by our faith in Jesus Christ." — Mathéo Depuydt, France
Church leaders featured in the series include President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Elder Neil L. Andersen and Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; President Camille N. Johnson of the Relief Society; President Emily Belle Freeman of the Young Women organisation; Sister Tamara W. Runia; and Elder Peter M. Johnson and Elder Jorge T. Becerra, General Authority Seventies.
"In the temple is the Savior and His love." — President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
The Final Episode Takes Viewers Inside the Salt Lake Temple
In the final episode, the participants walk through the renovated Salt Lake Temple, offering an inside look at this historic pioneer-era building.
For those watching from India and other countries, this can be a special opportunity to see parts of the temple and learn more about why it is important to Latter-day Saints.
When and Where You Can Watch
The series premieres Sunday, October 4, 2026, after October general conference weekend, on the Church's official YouTube channel. The trailer, released September 21, includes audio tracks in Cantonese, Chinese (Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
The Salt Lake Temple Will Open Its Doors Again

The Salt Lake Temple has been closed since late 2019 for extensive renovation, including important seismic upgrades.
A public open house will take place from April 5 through October 1, 2027. This will be only the second time in the temple's history that the general public will be invited inside — the first was a one-day open house before the temple's dedication in 1893.
People from different countries and religious backgrounds will have an opportunity to enter the temple and learn why Latter-day Saints consider it a House of the Lord — a sacred place to draw closer to Jesus Christ, make covenants, and participate in sacred ordinances.
The celebration will also continue throughout Temple Square with exhibits, performances, activities, and virtual experiences — including a guided virtual tour and a self-paced “discovery tour” of the temple's architecture and renovation, both launching April 5, 2027. These can help people who cannot travel to Salt Lake City learn more about the temple from wherever they are, including those in India.
Other projects connected with the celebration include two films: “Unshaken,” which focuses on the temple's multiyear renovation, and “Beacons of Hope,” which highlights Houses of the Lord around the world. Both are expected to stream in 2027, alongside a new music album.
You Can Already Reserve Your Visit

Reservations for the 2027 Salt Lake Temple open house opened on September 1, 2026, and the first wave of roughly one million reservations was claimed within 24 hours. Additional reservation batches followed on September 15, with the next release on October 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. Mountain Time, through TempleSquare.org.
A reservation is recommended for the temple tour itself, while many other Temple Square experiences will not require one.
For people in India who cannot travel to Salt Lake City, online resources and other celebration experiences can still provide ways to learn about the temple and follow this historic event.
An Opportunity to Experience the Temple
After the celebration, the Salt Lake Temple will be rededicated and will no longer be open for general public tours. That makes the 2027 open house a unique opportunity to experience this historic building and learn more about why temples matter to Latter-day Saints.
The temple is more than a historic building. It is a place where Latter-day Saints seek to draw closer to Jesus Christ, make covenants, and learn about God's plan for His children.
“Dedicate” can help a younger generation learn more about these teachings by hearing from young adults and Church leaders and seeing how Jesus Christ and temple covenants can influence everyday life.
