Elder Bednar stated via his social media accounts:

“At this time of year, we honor and celebrate the mothers and women who are part of our lives. 

I recently asked one of my sons to describe his mother, and this is what he shared with me:

' She is a great example of Christlike love . Mom has a great ability to minister to the individual, and I have learned from her that we can minister to others in many simple ways.'

I love seeing her at church . She remembers people's names, listens to them, and goes out to find those who might be feeling lonely.

She is an amazing teacher and a defender of the Gospel. 

She loves the Savior and is an example of a true disciple of Christ.

It doesn't surprise me that our son recognizes those qualities in his mother, since I have observed these same characteristics in Susan for over fifty years. 

I am inspired by his example of loving others and ministering to them in Christlike ways.

Many wonderful women—some who have had the opportunity to become mothers, and others who have not—influence society and families in beautiful and lasting ways. 

Women have the divine capacity to love, bless, care for, comfort, and nurture .” .
