Why This Matters for Us in India

Many of us may not be able to travel to Salt Lake City. Travel costs, visas, and family responsibilities can make it difficult. That is okay.

The Church has also planned virtual experiences so that people across the world — including India — can still participate and learn about the temple.

Even if we cannot go in person, this open house is a beautiful reminder of why temples matter. Temples are houses of the Lord. They are places where we make sacred covenants, feel closer to Jesus Christ, and connect our families for eternity.

A Gentle Invitation

Whether you are able to visit in person or experience it online, this is a special moment in Church history.

You can begin preparing now by:

  • Learning more about the purpose of temples
  • Talking about it with your family
  • Setting a reminder for September 1, 2026, to check for tickets
  • Praying for those who will visit and for your own opportunity to feel the Spirit of the temple

The Salt Lake Temple has stood for generations as a symbol of faith. Soon, its doors will open again — inviting people from every nation to come and see.

And that invitation includes you.
