Strengthening Families
As Mother's Day approaches, we see thousands of people rushing to buy the best gift for their mothers. Today I'd like to talk about something my mother taught me, which many of you have probably heard or will hear in the future.
"Every day is Mother's Day!" – that was a common phrase in my house and still is. Although we wanted to give her a gift or do something grand in her honor, she always said she preferred that we be loving children every day of the year. Unfortunately, we fail our mothers, we make mistakes frequently, and we fail to show our love for much of the year, and when Mother's Day finally approaches, we want to be the best children in the world.
My goal is not to make you feel incapable of giving your mother a gift with genuine intention, but I would like to alert those who forget what is most important: today. Here are 5 special gifts to give your mother throughout the year. Today, as a mother myself, I understand better and appreciate the immense, unconditional love a mother has for her child.

1. Listen to and follow their advice.
Even if it seems strange or unlikely, listen to and follow her advice, because a mother is rarely wrong when she warns her child about danger or harm. My mother warned me about various things many times. In some cases, I didn't heed her advice, and in other situations, I was obedient and followed her inspiration, and be assured that obedience has brought me to where I am today – happy.
2. Let's show our love every day.
Although giving this gift seems easy, we don't always manage it perfectly. Saying "I love you" isn't always easy, but beyond saying it, we need to act. Help with your mothers' countless tasks, serve them with love, understand them with compassion when they are upset, tired, or even demotivated. We need to be the support they lack so that their knees don't weaken. Contrary to what everyone thinks, mothers are not superwomen; they need help, affection, and attention.

3. Let us be grateful.
Let us always be grateful for what these wonderful women do. Saying thank you is much easier than it seems and needs to be a constant and indispensable habit. At mealtimes, after a long day at work, after a lesson taught with patience and affection. In short, I'm sure there will be no shortage of situations to be grateful for. As a mother, I know that our service is not provided expecting thanks, but I am certain when I say that it sweetens our souls.
4. Let us ask for forgiveness.
This gift, in my opinion, is the most difficult. Many times I've felt a heavy heart searching for air, relief, refuge, but unfortunately, sometimes our pride prevents us from seeking our mothers' forgiveness. We hope they won't hold grudges, since they are mothers, that is, they were born with some mechanism that prevents them from harboring resentment, but we are mistaken; they also get sad and need to be with us again. I have asked my mother for forgiveness many times, and even though I hope I don't have to go through this again, I know I will still need to seek her forgiveness again and again. Giving this gift requires an eternal perspective. Our earthly life is too short to waste time on bad feelings. Live love today, because it is only through it that we will have the gift of living in love forever.
5. Let's do it ourselves
The fifth gift is actually a material gift – I didn't say you shouldn't give a gift – and naturally mothers like to receive gifts. But using my experience, I would suggest that you make something yourselves. Mothers love receiving something made by their children. I'm sure your mothers cherish something you made. It doesn't have to be something grand, just made with love, and although it sounds cliché, it makes all the difference! Here are some suggestions: cards, videos, photographs, a picnic with the whole family, a lunch prepared by the children and the father – that would be a wonderful idea, some crafts you know she likes, a whole day dedicated to taking care of her beauty, in short, I could cite many examples, but contrary to the popular saying – "All mothers are the same, only the address changes," they are not always so alike, no one knows their mothers' tastes and desires better than their children.
Don't forget that there are thousands of reasons to give your mother gifts all year round!
